My name is Maurya Couvares. I am a social entrepreneur based in NYC. I am the Founder and CEO of ScriptEd, a nonprofit that equips students in under-resourced schools with the fundamental coding skills and professional experiences that together create access to careers in technology.
As of September 2018, ScriptEd serves over 1200 students annually across NYC and the Bay Area. I oversee a team of 35 full-time employees -- and we keep growing!
For my work with ScriptEd, I have been recognized by the New York Business Journal as a ‘Women of Influence’, was named as a “Catalyst” by the City of New York, and was named as an Emerging Innovator by Ashoka. I was also a featured speaker at TEDxNYED.
